A #Photograph of the #barracks of #Fort #Clinch. #FortClinch was a #brick fort built on the site of an earlier Spanish fort to help secure the #Florida and Georgia coasts.
The Confederacy seized the fort in 1861 and used it to shelter ships that ran the Union blockade on Confederate ports, but was forced to abandon the fort a year later, and Union troops reoccupied the fort and tightened the blockade.

8 October 1941 | The Auschwitz Bauleitung (construction office of the camp) created a plan for a brick barracks planned for the Soviet POWs camp at Birkenau.

According to the plan, each building was to hold 744 prisoners. They would sleep in 62 bunks divided to three levels - each for a minimum of 4 people.
