Heute einen #RaspberryPi5 mit dem neuen Gehäuse #pironman5max von #sunfounder in Betrieb genommen. Wirklich nett, so kann man den Pi auch einfach mit NVME SSDs betreiben... und ein AI Kit lässt sich auch noch draufstecken.

Okay. Been doing tech over four decades now. Just bought a #raspberrypi5 #canakit and was the damned simpilest computer I’ve ever done. Comes with preinstalled #linux on a microsd. 15 minutes! And it was up and running.
Kudos people, just kudos!

Believe it or not, it’s 2025 and I just implemented the first “standard FIR” class in my #DSP library for #PédaleVite (#DIY guitar/bass #multiFX). Such a basic processing neglected for years…

It’s optimized using #SIMD instruction sets (NEON and SSE) so I can run a 4096-tap impulse at 2.7 % CPU load per #audio channel on a #RaspberryPi5. This means a decent cabinet simulation without any of these complex zero-latency partitioned convolution algorithms.

They used to sell Raspberry Pi 5 accessories, I have an NVME HAT from them.

#Debian Trixie will be released with Linux 6.12 it seems; but once that's out 6.16 will probably be in Unstable soon.

#LeSachiezTu ? Contrairement à ses prédécesseurs, le #RaspberryPi5 intègre une horloge RTC (qui maintient l'heure même quand il est éteint), et pour qu'elle fonctionne, il suffit de lui ajouter une pôv' pile (ici en jaune, dans le très excellent boîtier Argon Neo 5 NVMe.

Mon ordi “desktop” favori, c'est vraiment devenu le #RaspberryPi5 (16G) avec un SSD NVMe (WD_BLACK SN770 1TB) dans un super boîtier Argon Neo 5 NVMe. et #Manjaro Linux (ARM, unstable) KDE.
Avec clavier et souris sans fil (Logitech K380 et Peeble mouse), sur la télé, c'est. juste. parfait.

En 8G de RAM, Le Pi + boîtier + alim + SSD = un chouette ordi complet pour 235 €, et moins cher avec un SSD moins gros.

Plus clavier sans fil et souris pour 69 €.

Bref un bon ordi à usage bureautique / Internet pour ~300 balles

Tout petit, tout léger, silencieux, rapide.
(mais pas pour gamer)

Since last Saturday, we managed to generate 6.3kWh with our new solar panel. Meanwhile we are migrating our servers and services from low power #Xeon #rack servers, to ultra low power single board computers #sbc with #arm processors. We use #RaspberryPi5 running #raspios and #odroidm1 running #armbian. Most demanding servers migrated nicely. Last week we migrated #nextcloud, and today #zabbix and #wazuh. Performance is better than expected!
