A photo of a pond completely covered in duckweed which itself is covered with countless orange autumn leaves.
In the very foreground of the picture there are stones also covered with orange and brown leaves. Behind the stones there‘s an old trunk of a tree swimming in the pond.
And in the background there are many trees and bushes on the other side of the pond. Some trees already have changed the colours of their leaves and some have not.

Just playing around with mirror edit with a simple #pond stone & some vibrant green #duckweed 💚

Do you see some abstract faces & creatures in this?

Symmetrical pond surface pattern with two rounded stones appearing as eyes in a mirroring design of green algae and dark water, creating a face-like illusion.

Day one of growing #duckweed for depositing into my #garden as both ground cover and nitrogen rich fertilizer!

Once this grows to fill the whole tray, I'll take half the duckweed and spread in onto the ground in my plot.

Anyone who has any insight as to why this may be a bad idea, feedback is welcome!

Fallen leaves and old tree branches in the grass.
Grass? No, it's water with duckweed.
The second picture outlines the situation.

@Broadfork
Have spent just over an hour skimming more #duckweed off the #lake. Here are the #before and #after photos of the barrow before the contents get tipped in the #compost bins.

@Broadfork
Just realised, yesterday I failed to include the photo of the #compost bin after adding the contents of the three piles of #duckweed and #dredgings.

Compost bins constructed of old pallets. The closest has just had a load of duckweed and lake dredgings added to it.

Having cleared the #duckweed. I took a walk around the #grounds. Most of the #daffodils on the #site are now in #bloom. Incidentally, it looks as if we're going to have the usual plentiful crop of #foxgloves on the island later in the year.

Guess what! The bay did fill up again so, this afternoon, I spent more time removing #duckweed from the #lake. Look carefully and you'll see the nearest and furthest piles are larger than in the earlier photo.

Two of the piles of duckweed are now larger than in the photo showing the end of the morning's work.

I was hopeful that the #lake would stay clear of #duckweed for a while, but after I'd cleared the bay that was full of it I realised that the wind was bringing in more from other parts of the lake and the #bay would soon be full again.

At 09:09 this morning I decided it was a good time to take advantage of what the #wind had done overnight. A lot of #duckweed had accumulated in one of the bays in the #lake
visible from out lounge window.

With the aid of a angler's net attached to a long pole and a rake I managed to make a good stab of removing the weed along with some sludge and twigs found on the bed of the lake. It's now in a number of piles on the bank. I'll give it a day or two to allow #invertebrates to crawl back into the water and then move the piles to the #compost bins.

It is strange planet. It is about swamps. And here there is a hot sun. Warm climate. Even hot. And there are lots of green and swamps. There are growing some mushrooms kind things. There are mushrooms. There is tree. Everything growing up with mushrooms. And mushrooms like plants. There are not a lot of hills here.
