#FrugalGardening tip.

I collect flat shaped medium sized rocks. They're very useful for helping plants that need a lot of heat. I leave rocks in sun to heat up all day. After evening watering, I put the sun warmed rocks at bases of heat needy plants. This helps them to grow faster & healthier, without spending money.

I heat rocks in fires, in Fall & Winter & put into clay pot, bottoms up, lidded incubators to heat greenhouse with zero electricity.

Patch of #nasturtiums attracts many beneficial insects & pollinators.

Once upon a time, many folks told me that #lupines can't be #propagated by cuttings because they're very sensitive.

I decided to challenge that with #PlantPropagation experiments. I tried to propagate lupine cuttings in water, with rooting powder, with raw aloe vera gel & with raw honey & cinnamon. This is a successful new plant from honey/cinnamon rooting! I did it!

I was behind on seed sowing starts again this past Winter!
I don't transplant any nightshade plants out into beds/pots until at least 2-3 flowers appear on starters. That helps the transplants to do much better - they're stronger if you wait a bit longer to transplant out.

They're great for #PollinatorGardens, useful for making homemade #fertilizer, #NitrogenFixer plant & also a topical #medicinal plant(good to use for small bruises & cuts). It's a pretty plant in bloom. Propagated all my comfreys from cuttings.
