Vintage vibes, modern speed. 🖤

There’s something incredibly satisfying about running a lightweight OS on a classic machine. The ThinkPad X220 remains one of the best laptops ever built, and @mxlinux (Fluxbox edition) keeps it feeling brand new in 2026.☕️💻

Is your old laptop gathering dust? Don't recycle it yet—Linux it! 🐧✨

Why MX Linux 23.6 Fluxbox is the "Endgame" for ThinkPad X220 users.
1️⃣ Debian 12.10 Base: Stability of Debian with MX’s user-friendly tools. 2️⃣ Fluxbox Magic: Get the speed of a Window Manager with the ease of a Desktop Environment. 3️⃣ AHS (Advanced Hardware Support): Perfect driver support for the X220's Intel HD 3000 graphics and Wi-Fi. 4️⃣ Battery Life: Significantly less CPU overhead means more time away from the charger.
The X220 isn't a "legacy" machine anymore; with this setup, it's a daily driver.

Finally achieved peak performance: ThinkPad X220 + MX Linux 23.6 Fluxbox. The ultimate distraction-free setup.

Just finished a fresh install on my legendary X220. While modern distros are great, MX Linux 23.6 Fluxbox feels like it was made for this Sandy Bridge classic.

Why Fluxbox? XFCE is great, but Fluxbox on MX is a hidden gem. It’s incredibly snappy, and the MX-Fluxbox tools make window tiling and tabbing a breeze. The X220’s 7-row keyboard + Fluxbox keybindings = pure productivity.

If you have an old X-series gathering dust, do yourself a favor and try this combo. It doesn't just "run"; it flies. 🚀

People seemed to like my Mandrake 7.2 install so have 5.1 too. Glad it worked this time

🔥 10 days on Fedora 43, and honestly… I’m amazed! I thought I’d be running back to openSUSE Tumbleweed in no time (as usual 😅), but Fedora 43 completely changed my mind.

It’s blazing fast, rock solid, and with my Btrfs + Snapper setup, I’ve got full rollback capability just like on openSUSE — total peace of mind. 🧘‍♂️

This might actually be the distro that keeps me around for a while. 👀💻

@sjvn Just gave my 12-year-old #Apple #MacBook Pro a fresh life with Linux Mint. 🚀

On newer machines I go for #Ubuntu, but here I happily skipped #GNOME and went for #KDE. Smooth, fast, and still rocking ~2h battery life. Proof that old hardware can shine again! 💻✨
