#scribus wasn't as bad as i had assumed once i got over it's learning curve and it's apparently hella capable (the ux is shit no doubts)

And if you are not a professional: Programs like #Inkscape, #Krita, #Scribus exist and might be enough to do graphic design for your hobby, club or private projects on #Linux.

Professional: #Krita seems to be the choice software of choise of some real comic artists (e.g. David Revoy https://www.davidrevoy.com/)

@happyborg We did it with a simple #xournal / #xournalpp drawing as we have devices with pen-support. As a drawback, you need to construct everything first and everything isn't exact, but it just works. Otherwise #scribus or #libreoffice Draw might work.

@Phantastopia Was genau meinst du mit Buchsatz? Der Klassiker wäre #LaTeX. Wenn du von InDesign kommst, wäre aber vermutlich etwas wie #Scribus das was du suchst.

Neben #scribus und #LaTeX solltest du vielleicht auch mal einen Blick auf #typst werfen. Ist ähnlich zu LaTeX aber ein neuerer Ansatz.

PDF output separation preview

Dear #GIMP #INKSCAPE #SCRIBUS #TEX #LATEX and #PDF #opensource and #freesoftware lovers...

Do you know any #foss / #floss application that can preview output separation on a PDF file like Adobe Acrobat pro does?

I have been tried hard, even using javascript with #pdfjs but I couldn't find something very suitable for doing #prepress with opensource.

I am also ok with any #web applications.
