Eine Reihe von #Linux Distros habe ich jetzt ausprobiert und letztlich entschieden, nochmal #Manjaro in der #i3wm Version eine Chance zu geben. Seit Stunden richte ich es nun ein. Sogar zur #tty musste ich zwischendurch wechseln, weil ich mir 'nen Knoten gebastelt hatte. Langsam nimmt das ganze aber Gesicht an. Ist bis jetzt "nur" das Notebook, was dafür herhalten muss. @rainer Jedes DE hat einen window-manager ( argh fühlt sich komisch an).
Am Ende nutzt jeder ein DE, auch die Leute welche so was wie sway nutzen.
Unter #X11 war das noch etwas einfacher da dort weniger Abhängigkeiten zu bestimmten Protokollen da sind. Mit #Wayland ist das wieder anders du kannst nur verwenden was kompatibel bzw. tun was erlaubt ist. Nutze aktuell #KDE #Plasma mit #i3wm hoffe das ich irgendwann ähnliches mit Wayland kann.

#Emacs's display-buffer-alist is awesome once you the hang of it. It allows to completely
change how Emacs's own windows are placed.
Like I'm using #i3 #i3wm I want that most of my Emacs windows are just frames.
The only downside is that a lot of that infrastructure depends on #X11 since on #Wayland
you can't universally tell if a frame is visible or where you want it to be placed..
For now fixing the i3 integration to filter visible frames for display-buffer-alist.

Am I the only one using it ?
I have tried #i3wm it seems better than that
At least you can validate the config before you load

I have this notion of configuring my Xorg desktop on Alpine Linux to have a single desktop with all windows as tabs, and i3wm has a built-in tab mode.

1/2 Aproveitando que estou agitado hoje (e acho que não dormirei tão cedo), me ajudem (se puderem, claro):

Atualmente uso #Debian e considerando migrar para o #Devuan (sem o #systemd). Estou aprendendo a programar (meus horizontes são #Python e #Java (por diversos motivos) e quero usar o mínimo de interface gráfica possível ao longo do tempo. Tenho em vista utilizar o #GNUEmacs e atualmente uso o gerenciador de janelas #i3wm com o #alacritty (de emulador de terminal). #blambers
