Uf. Después de un par de horas utilizando #secureblue, la encuentro básicamente inutilizable. Demasiadas apps tiene problemas de permisos. Y si tienes que ir eliminando hacks de seguridad para que las cosas sean utilizables, pierde básicamente el sentido. Y todo tarda más en iniciarse.
Una distribución inmutable como Silverblue es mucho más funcional.

I’ve got a feeling that 2026 might finally be the year of the Linux desktop. With that in mind, here’s my list of Linux distributions I’d recommend going into the new year, ranked from 1 as my top pick to 10 as still absolutely worth exploring.

Every project on this list brings something distinct to the table. Secureblue takes inspiration from GrapheneOS and focuses heavily on security. Bazzite is a Fedora-based distro built with gaming in mind. Tails routes all traffic through Tor by default. QubesOS isolates different parts of your digital life through strong compartmentalization. Paldo continues to push its Upkg package management approach further than most.
And before anyone starts complaining about what is or isn’t beginner-friendly: I never said this was a beginner list. These are recommendations, my recommendations, as we head into 2026.

With Tor and its hammer, we should look forward and #riseup to get up and stand up for our rights.
@reflex @YaLTeR Yeah, the fact that you can just reboot to a different version of your OS is just so cool! I too don't use the vanilla Silverblue, but rather #secureblue, a distro based on that. Before switching to secureblue I used #ArchLinux (BTW), so an atomic desktop felt much more restrictive than #arch, but I got used to it eventually : )

I don't love GNOME or KDE, but I'm giving #SecureBlue a shot with GNOME. This might be my daily driver. I have to get over a few usability humps, but in exchange, I should get a vastly more secure OS. Qubes is harder to use.
@privacyguides On my phone I use Vanadium, the default one on #grapheneos, on my laptop I run Trivalent, which is a hardened Chromium fork maintained by the #secureblue team.
I got a question at work here today about hardened Linuxes.
Remembered SecureBlue and decided to install the KDE iso.
And first impressions are really good. It includes a hardened browser and many, many tweaks.
Most of all: with flatpak, homebrew and very good documentation I haven't found things that I can't do yet. Impressive!
What I appreciate the most is that it makes you rethink about security and how to apply it in D2D.
