#Seismometers

The primary 7.8 earthquake in Turkey occurred at 8:17 PM EST last night (Sunday). By the time Monday morning arrived, energy from seismic sensors had just about returned to normal (top of the chart, upper left is midnight Monday EST) when energy from the 7.5 aftershock arrived around 5:38 AM EST, accompanied by the 6.0 aftershock energy around 7:00 AM EST. The energy from these earthquakes traveled around the world and was detected by the #seismometers on #SignalMountain.

#introduction
Hello! I am a #seismology Ph.D. course student where I can enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and a campus full of Ginko trees! I'm interested in developing new tools to elaborate the interior #Earth! Also, I am always interested in understanding every single part of seismic signals (esp. ocean bottom #seismometers)!

I've been enjoying SNS to feel the vibes of people sharing science. Recently, I've been using it for seeking more postdoc opportunities! Fingers cross for me!
