@marcdressler Definitely it's . i checked many destro, but most stable, easy to use is only Linux Mint in Cinnamon flavour.

Small "working on preparing for #Linux" update.

I've finished the blog stuffs, so I started the defrag of the E drive. It was always called an D drive. 🤔 But now... Somehow it's the E one... 🤔

I got loads deleted, just still stuff on the C drive and some on the E that I don't know what it is so I'll just leave it on for now.

The defrag will take loads of time, so I'll have to start now and then let it run some more when I'm back home again. I don't want to leave the oldie on while I'm away from home for a few hours... But I'm not in a hurry...

I've gotten loads of info on the ability to load the OS from the drive to try it out. People suggested running some software to make the iso I've downloaded bootable from the USB, so I don't need to install it immediately to the laptop, and I can try it first....

Without using difficult terms, is there a website that guides me step-by-step of how to get the iso file to the USB (it should be delivered today), so it can run the OS from it??

I did find Rufus, I got version 4.5, Windows x64. No idea how to use it though! 🫣 I'm trying to install it, got the x86 version as well and it just won't install.... 😢

I think, when I have it mounted after that, that I need to press some F keys to select the drive to start up from??

I've found some YouTube vids, but I struggle with those, (I'm very insecure and afraid to mess up), so I'd like a written "easy dummy speak" manual so I *know* I'm doing it right..... 😊

I'm very low on spoons and don't have too much free time at the moment... So the time and energy I do have, I need to spend wisely.

My laptop is an MSI GT70, with win7 home on it.
The USB I ordered is a Transcend 256GB SSD drive.

I am not very knowledgeable of using the pc/laptop besides just using the software I need... I used to be better at it, but my knowledge was better in the 90's. After that, I struggled more to keep up... 😔

So, let's do some other chores now while the defrag does some work. And... For some reason.... My Blu-ray drive seems to work again??? 🤔

So I dunno if I can get Rufus installed to make that drive thingie when I have the USB... Ugh... Wish I were better with things like these... 😔

Alan Wake 1 (2012) rodando na distro Linux Mint via Steam no Notebook Dell Inspiron 5558.

Infelizmente minha máquina é simples então não fica "fps" alto, mas dá pra jogar. Só nas Cutscenes que fica um bom "fps". É o que temos.

Tirando isso, gostei do jogo.

Ich hab unter Linux Mint Cinnamon ein Mediaserver auf meiner Fritzbox eingerichtet, läuft auch soweit ganz gut. Nur wenn ich aus Blender 2.80 eine Datei von diesem Mediaserver laden möchte, kriege ich ne fehlermeldung. Ich nehme mal an, ist ne Permission problem oder ?
