Should I go with Debian or something brand new to me for my next Distro? I have been using Kubuntu but I feel the urge to change. I don’t really have a reason to though.

Me alegro que formes parte de nuestro mundo GNU/Linux.
Los cambios de sistema operativo suelen traer cosas nuevas que hay que tomarselas con calma.
Espero que no caigas en el #distrohopping como la mayoría de nosotros.
Nos vemos en el #viernesdeescritorio , esa configuración hay que subirla.
Después de mucho #distrohopping y configurando como me gusta mi escritorio #gnome llegue a la conclusión que todas hacen lo mismo, si tú no le pones un nombre no sabrías que distro es; Ubuntu/Fedora/openSuse.
Antes había usado #bluefin pero el rendimiento no era el mejor y ahí me pase a Ubuntu regrese por testear y anda perfecto.
Cosas que me gustan:
-Inmutable
-Actualiza solo.
-llegar y usar.

Ein halbes Jahr Distrohopping und endlich angekommen. Linux Mint Debian Edition ist einfach mein System. Alles läuft auf Anhieb: Maus, Drucker, Funktionstasten, Bluetooth, WLAN,... Alle Distros von Arch, Zorin, Ubuntu, Fedora, MX Linux und Co haben nicht so gut funktioniert. Ich bin begeistert.

Too all you #distrohopper s out there. How do you manage your PWs, Secrets and home-Directories?
I repeatedly find myself with different machines, different distros and the need/will to set them up quickly. I get stuck with setting up my environemts, and quickly end up either being undersupplied when important information lies somewhere else or oversupplied but then copying whole home-directories.
I don't want to store secrets plaintext in a git-repo, and i guess a central secrets-/pw-mamager on the houseserver will be the way to go.
How do you manage your environment/secrets/private information?

@juliavithoria siiii! Te dije, né? 😆😆 Fedora + KDE es la combinación perfecta... Durante meses usé fedora 40 con Cosmic, pero con KDE, rinde mucho mejor y la estabilidad es mucho mejor también.

Puedo viciar con #steam sin problemas, trabajar con #Slack #zoom , estudiar con #LogSeq y #Spotify todo va de maravillas 😁😁 no más #distrohopping

El foro y recursos en general de #manjaro son muy buenos, muchos aptos para cualquier nivel de usuario.
Y sin duda, podrás encontrar también colaboración en la red para apoyarte en como seguir este camino a la hora de migrar de #windows a #linux, no solo a esta distribución sino a otras. Y quedo atento a apoyar este camino.

Me acabo de enterar de que han salido las nuevas versiones de la familia Ubuntu, y de que hace nada también salió la última de Fedora.
Me hago la pregunta de siempre, motivada por las razones de siempre. Y es que, si algo no está roto, mejor no cambiarlo. (En realidad sí que hay un par de cosas que no están bien engrasadas porque esta instalación es un poco parche.)
Aparte, cada vez que pruebo MATE o XFCE, me invade la nostalgia y romantizo la robustez y la personalización. Y con KDE igual, me encantaría volver a probar Oxygen y los iconos Crystal. Hace más de diez años que no toco KDE.
¿Qué hago?

Apparently, instead of #distrohopping these days, I app hop, playing with different things.
I’m most impressed with #vivaldi.
Damn that things packed with goodies, and most importantly, it’s packed with goodies that can be turned off if you don’t want them.
What was your first ever Linux distro? Mine was Red Hat back in 1995.
I am literally thinking about buying an extra laptop just for #distrohopping I mean #fedora is my home. But I miss checking out other distros on metal instead of in a VM....

Thinking about maybe switching to Fedora Sway Atomic from Arch on my desktop, and to Fedora Budgie Atomic from KDE Neon on my laptop.
I've been "living in" Rocky and Alma Linux servers at work; it would be nice to consolidate my mindset on my home computers as well.
Love Arch, been using it since 2010 or so, and I could always go back.
KDE Neon is nice, I recommend it if you want a traditional PC experience without much technical knowledge.

The installation to internal storage completes without error, but it doesn't boot with error "mmc boot failed"
Regardless which image I use. I think the install script is broken, at least for my #pinebookpro
#manjaroarm is dead (no updates, Wifi doesn't work) #armbian is dead (doesn't boot from eMMC) on my #pinebookpro
#distrohopping at its worst.
