Of course the bosses complain! But why give a benefit and not expect it to be used? Esp. if you don't get paid out for accumulated time after leaving or retiring. Workers have woken up to the fact that the bosses don't care about them. The pandemic was an eye-opener for people, & add to that the forced return to commuting, the stingy vacation & pregnancy leave in this country & the lack of pensions & other benefits.

When you call in #sick to work, you DO NOT NEED TO PROVIDE A REASON. Those are your sick days to use. Don't apologize. Don't justify. You aren't screwing your workplace over, a manager without a good contingency plan is.

(Obviously some exceptions to this rule - if you have #covid or if your workplace is in some sort of #ID #outbreak and reporting your symptoms is required)
