Eben habe ich #ZorinOS https://zorin.com/os/ ausprobiert und - holla - das gefällt mir gut! Oberfläche schick und für Windows-Umsteiger sehr geeignet.

Aber es gab diverse Issues...
#RaspAP z.B. ist trotz eigentlich guter Funktionalität für mich nicht zu gebrauchen. Leaken der echten IP in einigen #VPN Situationen - vor allem aber gibts mit RaspAP derzeit bekannte Stabilitätsprobleme mit dem aktuellen #RaspberryOS auf dem #RaspberryPiPico.

Und jetzt scripte ich mir seit 2 Tagen nen Wolf alle RaspAP Funktionalität mittels #NetworkManager (#nmcli), #dnsmasq und #iptables zu ersetzen.

Raspberry Pi OS gets a new update

Raspberry Pi is a small single-board computer originated in the United Kingdom that features a very cost-effective computing platform while maintaining high performance with the help of the powerful ARM64 processor. It runs a special version of Debian optimized for such computers, called Raspberry Pi OS, to take full advantage of its features.

Recently, Raspberry Pi has released a new version of their own operating system that is still based on the Debian 12 Bookworm released on June 10th, 2023. It is hinted that this new version of Raspberry Pi OS is going to be most likely the last version that uses said version of Debian before moving on to Debian 13 Trixie when the official release commences.

According to their official newsroom, they said that there have been some changes made to the OS since November of the last year.

• The swaylock lock screen application has been modified to add more feedback to the user instead of just a white screen.
• The automatic login option has been split into two: desktop and console. This is done to improve security of your Raspberry Pi.
• The new printer config application has been introduced to make managing printers simpler and more intuitive.
• The mouse emulation settings can now be accessed when managing touch screens to make it easier to use it.
• The Linux kernel has been upgraded to 6.12 to add new features and to incorporate many improvements.

Many changes have also been done to improve the performance of your Raspberry Pi to save time when working on your project, such as when working on your new application written in Python or C#.

Somehow #raspberryos bookworm broke the touchinput of the 7inch #raspberry touch display, many reports on the web. But even downgrading didn't fix it.

But I don't need it. So I don't really care.

Wie ich bereits in meinem letzten Blog-Beitrag geschrieben habe, versuche ich mich aktuell daran einen meiner Raspberry Pi´s als Streaming-PC zu nutzen.

Warum das Ganze?

Hauptsächlicher Grund meines Versuches ist, dass es mein Laptop anscheinend nicht hinbekommt ein Spiel laufen zu lassen und gleichzeitig zu streamen. Vermutlich reicht da einfach die Hardware

fanno resuscitare quasi tutto.

@eriol @galeot @invalido_incazzato @mauriziocarnago testo l'utilizzo di CPU, i tempi di caricamento e l'utilizzo di RAM nei software che uso più spesso, sopratutto in un'ottica di risparmio energia e quindi maggiore autonomia della batteria/meno cicli di ricarica.
Per ora #antix e #raspberryos hanno le prestazioni migliori, entrambe derivate #debian con un DE estremamente leggero.
A seguire #Fedora #LXQT ch forse ha dei vantaggi anche con il suo BTRFS transparent compression.

Es ist vermutlich nichtmal #Microsofts schuld, aber in der Quellenliste des #RaspberryOS existiert ein Eintrag, der ungefragt hinzugefügt wurde und bei jedem apt update auch MS anklingelt. Nanu?
Wer will das schon, der nicht Visual Code installiert hat unter Linux ?
Ich sicher nicht.
