#fensterfreitag. This is the Hoftoren in The Hague again, the same as in the previous photo, but now it is a reflection in the canal in front of it. The pattern is the same, the wind just gives it a swing, but the colours are completely different because of the sunlight. The colours in the water are sometimes purple, sometimes silver and green, sometimes yellow. Never the same.

In this tiny little dirty puddle you can see the point of the Hoftoren mirrored, a tall office building in The Hague that is nicknamed the fountain pen, precisely because of its special point. I am standing quite a distance away, almost a whole street away. And then you suddenly see it there, just like that in a puddle. When I crouched down in front of such a puddle to take the photo, people sometimes asked me worriedly if I had become unwell. On the southern edge of the Swabian Alb, the imposing Princely Castle of Sigmaringen stands on a rocky outcrop on the banks of the Danube.
The first castle complex was built here in the 11th century and has been continually expanded and rebuilt over hundreds of years of turbulent history, partly due to severe damage caused by various wars and sieges.
Sigmaringen Castle is the ancestral seat of the Princely Hohenzollern family and is still partly used as a family residence today. With more than 450 rooms, however, this isn't so tragic for visitors. There's still more than enough space for a museum, an armory, and an impressive library with more than 200,000 volumes.

Am südlichen Rand der schwäbischen Alb tront das imposante Fürstenschloss Sigmaringen auf einem Felsen am Ufer der Donau.
Bereits im 11. Jahrhundert entstand hier die erste Burganlage welche in hunderten Jahren bewegter Geschichte permanent an- und umgebaut wurde, was auch durch starke Beschädigungen in Folge diverse Kriege und Belagerungen zurückzuführen ist.
Das Schloss Sigmaringen ist der Stammsitz der Fürstenfamilie von Hohenzollern und wird auch heute noch teilweise als Wohnsitz der Familie genutzt. Was bei mehr als 450 Räumen jedoch für Besucher nicht so tragisch ist. Da ist immernoch mehr als genug Platz für ein Museum, eine Waffenkammmer und eine beeindruckende Bibliothek mit mehr als 200.000 Bänden.

For #WaterfallWednesday, I wanted to show you #Magdeburg's own "Cracau waterfall" (yes, this is the official name with #Cracau being the name of the district 😄), which, of course, is not a real waterfall, but a small #weir on a cut-off meander of the #Elbe river that controls the water level of the regular Elbe.
As you can see, with the ongoing #drought, only a pitiful amount of water trickles through the small sluice in the middle. 😞 Photo was taken on Sunday

Very strange water, wind and a boat made the black and white building change into microbes. Was not made monochrome. It was just as you see it. And only a few seconds to never return.
